Knot Lab
Geometry you can untangle.

THE IDEA
Geometry you can untangle.
I wanted a knot to be something I could explore from all sides, edit and turn into a physical shape.
What I built
A knot design and geometry workspace with multiple construction tools, relaxation models and mesh exports. Knot Lab keeps its existing interface in this portfolio.
Working with AI
Geometry needs more than a convincing picture. Construction rules, curve measurements and export behavior can be tested independently of the renderer. That separation makes a visual experiment easier to trust.
A QUICK DEMO
Explore a knot from every side
Try the project with a small, deliberate experiment.

Open a built-in knot and drag the viewport to orbit around it.
Change its tube thickness or a construction parameter and inspect the crossings.
Compare a relaxation model, then export a mesh when you want to explore fabrication.
PROJECT SCOPE
What to know.
- The simulation is a geometric exploration tool. It is not a guarantee about a physical rope or printed object.
- The portfolio contains the app's own built-in tools. Private comparison catalogues are not included.
- Two known relaxation-model limits remain: figure-eight ideal ropelength and level-zero behavior. A simulated relaxed shape is not a mathematical proof.
33 fresh browser checks pass, with STL, OBJ and GLB exports independently parsed for valid finite geometry. Original interface and source logic are retained; embedded icon metadata is cleaned with identical decoded pixels. Fourteen isolated geometry suites run with two documented relaxation-model limits retained. See verification notes →
